NEW THIS YEAR - EDMONTON TOY RUN BURSARY

The Edmonton Toy Run has been making a difference in the lives of children in the Edmonton area since 1984. New to 2024-25 the Edmonton Toy Run has created a new and sustainable way to give back and enrich the lives of our community members! To do this, the Edmonton Toy Run has created a Bursary award, consisting of a cash award of up to $1,000.00, per successful applicant. 

Applicants must submit all required documentation and meet the following selection criteria to be considered for this year’s bursary:

• Between the ages of seventeen and twenty-five
• Resident of Alberta
• A minimum of one letter of reference from a community member who has supervised or mentored the applicant’s involvement in their community OR a minimum of one letter of reference from a teacher which describes the student’s involvement in their school.
• A covering letter from the applicant which should include the following:

                           * Involvement/ knowledge of the Edmonton Toy Run.

                           * Since 1984 the Edmonton Toy Run has strived to make a difference in community, 

                              what does “give back to the community” mean to you?

                           * Tell us about your goals and dreams for the future and how will receiving this 

                              bursary support you achieving those goals and dreams?

                          * Acceptance to a program of learning or skill development. 

                              Examples:

                              -Post Secondary Education

                              -Continuing Education 

                              -Trade School

                              -GED

                              -Skill Enhancement/Development

                                   · such as trainer level advancement within your sport that would allow you to then

                                    teach that sport to others, enhancing your own ability to both give back to the

                                    community and support potentially yourself financially should this advancement 

                                    position you to receive employment via the training acquired.
